Another word for self-destruction

It covers you when it gets too cold

It provides you the warmth that you long

But everyone knows that the temperature will not remain the same forever

Attachments to Him

Is another story

He provides the consolation that everyone on this earth needs

He knows what we need

And He knows what is the best for us

I have left attachment long behind

Evidently after that occurrence

We know nothing is forever

Then why do we allow ourselves to hold on to a loose stitch

So precariously

And vulnerably?

Why?
