"Dreamsleeves"
"Wear your dreams on your sleeves"
Who would have thought that a step to achieving your dreams is to let the world know about it?
I read a book, once, called "Dreamsleeves".As the title would suggest, the book put forth the idea of wearing your dreams on your sleeves so that they are evident to the world. In other words, the book encourages us to tell our dreams to the world so that the right people will come forward and help us to build the bridge that we would need to cross over to our dreams. This encouragement spoke to me because more often than not I tend to bottle my dreams and I'm very certain that I'm not alone in this matter. We tend to think that we can achieve a certain goal entirely by ourselves which,in fact,is not incorrect. We definitely can but the question to ask is - Would it be as efficient as it could have had we asked others' help? We all know the answer to that.Oddly,as simple as it sounds, sometimes all we need to do is - ask.It is as simple as that. But asking a favour for such a selfish motive can be quite uncomfortable and daunting but I do think we over contemplate on it too much before actually doing the asking part.By the time we've gone through that initial anxiety, most often than not we would think,"Oh,that wasn't so bad".
I do think in the theoritical manner,it is quite easy to accept the concept. It is logical. However,to applicate can be quite a puzzle, still. After reading this book, which has now been about a minimum of five years, the number of times I've applied this concept can be counted with a single hand and they were done in the recent years. As you can see,I'm still trying to master this art of asking.I've never been the most comfortable with asking for help,to begin with. What more to ask for a self-centered favour.Unless,if the people in question are my brothers.I definitely asks for their help far too often, more that I need to,but they are my brothers so they are stuck with me until I'm married.Back to the main point,if you ever feel like you are in a stagnant state in achieving your dream.Maybe this step is the one you're missing in your action plan.It definitely is a common sense but apparently this particular one isn't so common.Maybe all we need to do is just simply - ask.
